Four camels at rest on the red sand of Wadi Rum. The nearest one turns to face the camera — unhurried, entirely unconcerned with the desert stretching behind it.
Camels are fundamentally indifferent to human beings, which is part of what makes them so entertaining to photograph. This one turned at exactly the right moment — curious, slightly sceptical, completely at ease in a landscape that would flatten most creatures.
The Wadi Rum mountains recede into haze behind the group. The red sand, the warm coats, the blue sky: it’s a palette that feels simultaneously ancient and cinematic. This is not a serious landscape print. It’s the one that makes people smile when they walk past it — and smile every time after that.
